Bora Kürekçi

Bora joined the Navy in 1981 and graduated from the Turkish Naval Academy as an Ensign in 1988. He worked onboard destroyers and frigates for 12 years as the head of several branches and departments until 2000. He attended to several technical and maintenance trainings and courses in the US, Germany and the Netherlands of shipborn equipments and devices. He signed under the acceptance of the electronic systems of TCG ORUÇREİS, a MEKO-class frigate built in the Gölcük Shipyard, as the head of the Electronics Department in 1995. He attended to the Flag Officer Sea Trainings (FOST) in Plymouth, England in 1996 on TCG ORUÇREİS.

After completing his sea commission, he served at several headquarters of the Turkish Navy as project officer, some duties of whom were “Internal Audits Planning and Program Officer”, “Instructor for Seamanship Courses in the Naval High School”, “Head of the Occupational Safety And Health Department for the Turkish Navy”.

Bora retired from the Turkish Navy in 2013.

He completed the Superyacht Management Course in the Maritime Training Academy, England in 2022 and has been serving as the Total Quality Management Coordinator for the company. He also completed the DPA Course at Bureau Veritas, İstanbul in 2023 and has the certificate to serve as the DPA for superyachts larger than 500 gros tonnage.

He has been a licenced yacht and centerboard racer since his days as a cadet in the Naval Academy.

He is a co-founder of Naucean Yachting since 2021 and Blue Marine Survey since 2022.
